What is the Online Message Centre?
The message centre is a discrete web based
email facility (similar to Hotmail.com) allowing you to send and
receive messages to other registered members within the Ghana.co.uk
dating service.
Please note that all emails are sent using your registered username
and at no point will your email address be disclosed to other members.

How do I access my Message Centre account?
To access the Online Message Centre, simply login to your dating
account and click the message centre button located at the top of
your browser window.

Why don't I have any message in my Message
Centre account?
Message Centre is a new feature within the Ghana.co.uk
dating service therefore you will not be able to access any messages
sent prior to 07/20/2002.
All new messages sent after 07/20/2002 will be stored within your
message centre account for a period of 4 weeks.

How long will messages
be stored within my account?
Your messages will be stored for 4 weeks. You may also delete messages
within your account at anytime.

Can I send attachments with my messages?
No, not at the moment - but we are aiming to offer this facility
in the near future.

How do I send messages to other users?
Once you are logged in to the Ghana.co.uk Dating service simply
search for the user you wish to contact and click the 'Contact Me'
button located next to the user's profile. You will automatically
enter the message centre where you can send your message.

What happens after I send a message?
Once your message has been viewed by the recipient you will receive
an email notification stating that your message has been viewed.

Basic Membership (Completely Free) :
1. You may browse our listings to access other profiles.
2. You may post your own personal profile and pictures on our listings
3. You may reply to any messages you get.
Premium Membership (Free for a limited
period of time):
1. All of the above
2. You have the privilege of being able to initiate contact with
other members.

4. Are my details confidential? |
| |
Yes, registration details such as Telephone Numbers, Home Addresses
and Email Addresses are absolutely confidential. We will NEVER display
or give out this information.

5. What is a Personal
Profile?
Your Personal Profile is a description of you and the matches you
are looking for. It allows others to learn more about you. Searching
our database lets you view other members' Personal Profiles.

6.
What should I write as my personal description?
It's entirely up to you. Your personal description can be as brief
or as detailed as you want it to be. As a guide we advise you to say
a few words to introduce yourself, your interests, and the kind of
relationship you are looking for.
Note: Because your personal description will
be displayed to other users, all email addresses and contact information
will be filtered out to protect your privacy. Profiles that
contain contact information within the personal description will be
removed without notice.

7. Do I have to post my picture?
No, but you are more likely to get a response if
you do. You have the option to upload your image when registering
or at a later stage via your user control panel.

8. How do I submit a picture?
You can submit a picture in 3 ways:
a) Upload photograph
online:
If you already have a scanned photograph you can upload it directly
to your profile (Jpeg/GIF format) whilst registering. You may also
upload/change your photograph at anytime via your user admin panel.
(Please make sure that images are in Jpeg/Gif
format and the file size below 15kb)
b) Email your photograph:
If you are unsure how to resize/optimise your photograph, you can
email a scanned copy to dating@ghana.co.uk
(Images must be Jpeg/GIF format).
Please state your username and password in the main body of the
email.
c) You can post your photograph to us:

We will be happy to scan and upload your picture for you Free of
charge. Please state your username and password on the back of your
photograph. (If you would like us to return your photograph, please
enclose a stamped addressed envelope.)

9. How do I update my Personal
Profile?
You have to log in first to access your message centre
and personal profile. Once you have logged in, the 'My profile'
and 'Message Centre' will appear at the top. Just click on it to
edit your profile or check your message.
My profile options include:
- View and edit Personal Profile / Contact details
- Upload or change your photograph
- Remove Profile

10. How will I know when someone tries to contact me?
Once a members contacts you, his/her message will be stored in your
personal message centre for 3 weeks. An email will also be sent to
notify you of the new message. You will have to log in to your message
centre to view or reply to the message.

11. How do I contact other dating members?
Premium Members (currently free) are
able to initiate contact with other members
by clicking the contact button located next to each user's profile.
Basic members can receive messages and reply but are unable to
initiate contact.
However, our Free Promotion allows every new user to become a Premium
member Free of Charge (please note that this offer is for a limited
period).

12. What content is
considered unacceptable?
We expect members to abide by a spirit of common sense, courtesy and
decency on our site (remember kids view this site aswell!). The following
content is explicitly forbidden in your public profile:
- The nickname "Guest," nicknames composed only of numbers other
than your account number, and nicknames that violate any other
standards listed here.
- Blatantly vulgar, offensive or derogatory language, slang or
symbols, including insulting references to others' ethnicities,
genders or sexual orientations.
- Abbreviations or symbols that are unclear in meaning to the
general user, or which stand for content forbidden by this policy.
- Full names, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, addresses,
or any other content that might allow other members to find or
contact you directly. (Such content is acceptable in the private
messages you exchange through Ghana.co.uk contact service.)
- References to unsafe sex; graphic or derogatory references to
sex in general.
- References or invitations to the use of drugs, prostitution
or other illegal activities.
- Personal or Match Descriptions in your Profile that are clearly
inconsistent with your stated gender or gender(s) you seek.
- Recorded greetings violating any of the above standards.
- Any content deemed by Ghana.co.uk's Validation staff to be offensive
or objectionable to other Ghana.co.uk dating members.

13. What photograph
is considered unacceptable? |
| |
The following photographic content is unacceptable:
- Dark or poor quality images, as well as photos in which you
are not clearly visible, or your face is not clearly recognizable.
- Any form of nudity or genital exposure, including the suggestion
of erections (male) or erect nipples (females) beneath the clothing.
- Photos that do not match your stated gender.
- Cartoons, drawings, superimposed art or captions, as well as
"faked" or altered images and images that obviously do not reflect
your true appearance.
- Photos that include adults other than you or children other
than your own. (This includes recognizable people in the background
of your photo.)
- Improperly sized or cropped images, including photos with excessive
background or white space.
- Photos in which you are -- or appear to be -- underage (18),
or appear to be engaged in some illegal activity.
- Any photo deemed by Ghana.co.uk's staff to be offensive, threatening
or objectionable to other Ghana.co.uk's members.
Finally, we reserve the right to interpret, change or amend the above
standards at any time, with or without notice, as circumstances warrant.

14. What if I violate
this policy?
Your posting will be deleted by our Screening Staff and will not appear
in your Profile. In more serious cases, your entire account will be
immediately deleted. Our decision will be final and there will be
no refund.
Normally, when we delete a Profile, we notify you and invite you to
resubmit your material in a more appropriate manner.

15. How do I cancel my membership
Male membership
accounts last for about 6 months, female accounts for about 9 months,
they are then all automatically deleted. Female accounts last longer
than male accounts as many more males register than females.
You also have an option to remove your profile via the user admin
panel.
If you would like us to delete your profile,
please send an email to dating@ghana.co.uk
subject 'Cancel Membership', stating your username and password.
